About this post
I’ve been thinking about starting a blog for the longest time, but there always seemed to be something else taking priority. However, with my current job rolling out this exciting GenAI initiative, we’re being encouraged to share tips on leveraging this new technology in our daily work. What a perfect nudge to finally kick off this long-awaited project, don’t you think? 😉
Requirements
While I could’ve easily set up a WordPress site and called it a day, I had specific criteria in mind that guided my choices.
1. Maximum Security
While platforms like WordPress, Drupal, and other Content Management Systems (CMS) are user-friendly and quick to set up, they come with their fair share of vulnerabilities. Given that I don’t have much time to manage and maintain these platforms, a managed service that hosts simple HTML and other static files is essential for me.
2. Simplicity is Key
Although working with plain HTML is straightforward, I’d rather not get into the weeds of manual content formatting. I’m looking for a solution that requires minimal effort on my part and just works!
3. Go Serverless
Building on the first criterion, I have no interest in managing a server for hosting the blog.
The Perfect Fit
To meet all of my requirements, I consulted ChatGPT for guidance on how to set up the blog using AWS and Hugo as the static site generator. For those curious about our conversation, you can find it here: ChatGPT conversation.
